Two kedgers create a new real estate model
It all began on the benches of KEDGE Business School. Julien M. and Augustin met there, shared a common ambition and ended up co-founding Sharies, a start-up that is shaking up the real estate rental industry.
Julien M. joined KEDGE in 2007, specializing in Finance and Strategy. His internship with Foncia immersed him in the world of real estate, a revelation that led him to earn a Master's degree in Real Estate Management at ESSEC before moving on to AEW. Augustin, for his part, specializes in Marketing and Negotiation. Passionate about architecture and craftsmanship, he set up his first company dedicated to interior design before embarking on the Sharies adventure.
KEDGE's contribution: a springboard to entrepreneurship
Their years at KEDGE brought them much more than a degree. Julien developed his project management and teamwork skills, while Augustin forged a strategic approach and a keen sense of leadership. Together, they cultivate a shared vision: reinventing the way cities are inhabited.
Sharies: rethinking housing for a generation seeking flexibility
Launched in 2017, Sharies breaks the codes of traditional rental by offering turnkey residences, fully furnished, equipped and incorporating an "all-inclusive" offer: subscriptions, housekeeping, linen, coworking and relaxation areas.
Their secret? A 100% digital user experience. Thanks to a dedicated application, residents can manage their accommodation in just a few clicks. More than just a roof over their heads, Sharies offers a real way of life, designed to meet the expectations of new generations.
Julien and Augustin oversee the entire process, from property selection and development to construction management and operation of the residences.
A clear ambition: to redesign the future of housing
The aim is ambitious: to become the leading independent operator of managed housing in France. The next step? The opening of a residence in Marseille in 2025, on rue de la République, with workspaces, sports facilities and services designed to simplify residents' lives.
Any advice for kedgers tempted by entrepreneurship?
"Launch, test, adjust!" advises Julien. "Ideas are worthless without action. You have to dare and persevere."
Augustin adds, "Surround yourself with the right people, accept failure as a learning stage, and stay curious. With determination, anything is possible."
With Sharies, Julien and Augustin reinvent rental and prove that boldness and vision can turn a simple idea into an entrepreneurial success.
