Interview with Ulrich, graduate from KEDGE’s ISLI Continuing Education programme, now Supply Chain Manager
2020 graduate of KEDGE’s ISLI Continuing Education programme, Ulrich* tells us about his career path, his training at KEDGE, and what it has enabled him to achieve in his career. An inspiring career path resulting from getting perspective through additional training.

Before I did the programme, I was the coordinator of the M-88 activity on the Rafale engine. That position consisted of coordinating all the maintenance repair and operations activities of the different maintenance areas (NTI1 and NTI2) to ensure that we had the necessary equipment at the right time, in the right place, and with the required quality in our various counters in the homeland. With the various changes in maintenance contracts, I needed a more global vision to define our future strategies to strengthen our supply chains.
Because of changes to the maintenance in operational condition, I needed to increase my skills in the supply chain. My goal was to master the M-88's supply chain from start to finish, so any training programme I did needed to be both professionally and academically compatible with a global vision of the supply chain. I chose the ISLI continuing education programme because it met those conditions.

What I learned allowed me to advance to my current position of Supply Chain Manager. I develop the maintenance strategy and the associated supply chain to meet our future operational commitments. In this capacity, I work on MRP2 type planning (standard operating procedures, master production schedule, scheduling), setting up counters (module, parts, MS) with a made-to-stock type of management strategy.
I’m also developing the management strategy for the M-88 fleet, which is an input to our standard operating procedures, enabling us to match load/capacity according to future activities.

Yes. I would do this continuing education programme again without hesitation - ideally in an in-person setting if health measures allow it. The videoconference courses were handled very well, but it's always better to be able to hold discussions in person!
First of all, before undertaking this type of training, they would need to envision themselves on this career path and ask themselves questions such as, "Am I ready to take on new responsibilities?” “What direction do I want to go in?”, etc. Then, they need to ask themselves what type of additional training they need to achieve their goals without compromising their families and careers.

So, I would recommend this programme to those who already have experience in one part of the supply chain and who want to possess a more global vision in the medium-term while developing their strategy to make tomorrow's supply chains more resilient in an increasingly complex and uncertain world.
