💬 NOÉMIE DE LATTRE (PGE 2009) - INTERVIEW
1️⃣ To begin, tell us a little about your professional background. What is your current position? What was your educational and professional background that get here?
A year ago, I created my own coaching and personal development company: Une ESCALE en Vous.
After an economic and social sciences BAC, I took prep courses so I could go to KEDGE. I began my professional career in Brazil, where I lived for 6 years. I first went to work for Decathlon in São Paulo, then GL Events in Rio to work on big events, such as the FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2014 World Cup. After that, I felt like going back to France, and it was Grenoble that called to me to join the French National Union of Ski Instructors. I realised that I liked all these diverse and varied jobs: mass distribution/events/IT projects, but they weren't "100% me"!
In 2018, I needed to know what I was made for, the career that was 100% me! That's when I met a coach and decided to get coaching with her. That made me realise that I, too, was meant to be a coach! In 2019, I got professional training as a coach in Lyon at Coaching Ways. Today I am a Certified Professional Coach, and a member of the ICF, the International Coaching Federation. I provide coaching in French, Portuguese, Spanish, and English those who want to move forward in their life and in their career in a more fluid and pleasant way. I also organise personal development events and team building seminars for companies. A new tailor-made life, created in my own image, to help those who place their trust in me in the best possible way.
2️⃣ Today you live in Grenoble. What do you like about this country, and more particularly about this city? What is different from France?
What I liked the most when I moved to Grenoble after living in Brazil for 6 years was the ease of travel. Here, I can go wherever I want in just 10 minutes by bike! There, I used to spend 2 hours in traffic jams every day or almost every day. Then there are the mountains that surround Grenoble, having "a view", a horizon to look at, and the mountains that put on and take off their white coats! Finally, it’s the simplicity of the people that we feel because of this sporting side.
3️⃣ Now you’re in charge local branch of KEDGE Alumni in Grenoble. What motivated you to apply as a volunteer?
I like people, I like events. And I love meeting new people, welcoming them, making them feel at ease, and sharing ideas with them So when I saw that you were looking for someone, I knew right away that it was for me! I had already initiated meetings in São Paulo when I lived there. I think that's what I like to do! I really enjoyed my years at KEDGE in Bordeaux and had strong connections with school’s administration when I was President of the Melting Potes Association, then while I was involved with the Pôle accueil des admissibles (Centre for welcoming eligible applicants).
4️⃣ What are your ambitions for the branch? What are your plans?
With the Covid pandemic, our plans are a bit on hold. But the idea is still there: create a series of meetings around topics that will serve to enrich each one of us, to develop ourselves, and to make the business world a better place. To combine moments of reflection and sociable moments because "The journey is to go from self to self through others"! We want to make this branch a place of resourcing, where we can discover new practices (collective intelligence, co-development, shared governance, etc.) and new people.
5️⃣ How did the process of your becoming the branch manager go? Was the contact with KEDGE Alumni easy?
Superb! Brigitte Van Roy was very welcoming. There was a good rapport between us. She is very clear, focused, and organised. KEDGE Alumni helps a lot with all the logistics of the invitations, communications, and timing. It’s truly precious.
6️⃣ Finally, what message would you like to relay to graduates and students passing through, or living in, Grenoble?
Today, even more than before, I want to tell them, “enjoy life, stay confident, and live the way YOU want to live”. Continue to recharge your batteries, find your psychological and physical equilibrium, and for that, Grenoble and its mountains is the place to do so. And if, on your way through, you have time for a coffee, don't hesitate to look me up!
I love to meet people, talk, and share ideas, so it will always be a delight.
