Million Victories, a start-up founded by a KEDGE graduate, has raised 3 million dollars!
Founded in 2017 by KEDGE graduate Céline Espiet-Allary, Million Victories is an independent studio in Lyon that develops and publishes unique MMO games for mobile devices.
Three million dollars in funding for the studio's development
The funds raised will allow Million Victories to increase its investments in marketing as well as in attracting new players, in particular through the recruitment of an acquisition manager. Million Victories wants to make its game a major player in the strategy games category, which represents a market of more than one billion dollars. The company is looking to draw new users in its key markets, including the US, Europe, and Asia.
Million Victories: A French success
Million Victories is a Lyon-based development studio that created Million Lords, a popular massively multiplayer online mobile game that has been downloaded over 500,000 times and has an average rating of 4.4/5 on the AppStore. Million Lords has a unique DNA and positioning on the 4X market (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate). Its system of seasons, its gameplay inspired by the classics of the genre, and its system of conquest give it a special place in the hearts of gamers and strategy aficionados.
Thanks to its conquest-based gameplay, the studio is now seeing strong annual growth and high player engagement, with players spending an average of 1.5 hours a day on the game. Million Lords has also demonstrated better than average monetisation results than other games in the same genre.
Céline Espiet-Allary, CEO and Co-founder
Céline Espiet-Allary completed her studies at KEDGE with a postgraduate degree in management control at Dauphine. She began her career in management control, working to improve the performance of both SMEs and large companies, including spending 10 years with Hewlett-Packard.
Subsequently, she discovered the world of entrepreneurship when she co-founded Buzzinbees, a telecom software spin-off from HP. In 2017, after having sold Buzzinbees to a large French industrial group, she became involved in the world of video games when she met Benoît Ducrest. Together they founded Million Victories, where she currently holds the role of general manager, which she describes as being "a varied and exciting role in the service of a great adventure".
I have enjoyed every step of my career over the years because of the diversity of my experiences and the people I've met.
Céline Espiet-Allary is also a member of the jury of Premières, an incubator that supports women and mixed teams in the creation and development of innovative companies. Additionally, she is an elected member of Game Only, the association of video game companies of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
