KEDGE to open a 500 m2 business creation facility in marseille!

In a public survey carried out by Le Point in 2015, it was revealed that 53% of young people would rather work for themselves than as an employee. This desire for independence is not just a dream, but a genuine necessity imposed by today’s world of work, which is progressively transforming our society of employees into a society of service providers. KEDGE Business School's priority is to train workers to adapt to the times, and on 23 March, it will be opening an innovative 500 m² facility dedicated to business creation at its Marseille campus.

Clear objectives to meet a growing demand

The “Daniel Carasso KEDGE Accelerator” demonstrates the school's major ambitions for training future students. Among other things, it aims to:

  • Energise entrepreneurship at a national level
  • Support 100 internal and external projects each year
  • Provide access to a cutting edge ecosystem and services
  • Accommodate startups in a dedicated 500 m² facility

If the choice to support future entrepreneurs is a genuine investment in the future, it is also the result of a real and increasing demand. “More and more students and alumni have entrepreneurial projects each year”, said Quentin Dumontet, Entrepreneurship Manager for KEDGE BS. “Entrepreneurs account for 2,000 of our 54,000 graduates worldwide. Among our 500 corporate partners, around 10% are also involved in entrepreneurial projects. Lastly, KEDGE Business School currently offers a number of ‘Entrepreneurship/Innovation’ courses ranging from basic training to MBAs.”

Complete support to all entrepreneurs

Whether your start-up is just a future project or has already been launched, the Daniel Carasso Accelerator will meet your needs with services to suit your profile (Business Nursery incubator, accelerator, Innovation Lab, etc.). It is open to all students and alumni from the school, and also to associations, partners, businesses and project leaders who wish to benefit from the ecosystem. All of the above talents will be able to make full use of human resources (teacher-researchers, consultants, lecturers, coaches, mentors) and material resources (conference facilities, co-working areas, meeting rooms, mobile offices, relaxation and gaming areas).

As our entrepreneur alumni are best placed to support the school’s entrepreneurial dynamic, several of them will take part in an Entrepreneurship Strategic Committee, in order to offer guidance, expertise, assist with financing, discuss issues relating to projects and introduce entrepreneurs into new networks that are crucial for their development.

A further service for our graduate entrepreneurs

Although this new facility is a major development for the school in terms of entrepreneurship, it follows on from a range of other services offered by KEDGE Alumni. Entrepreneur Clubs bring together hundreds of graduates in Marseille, Paris and Bordeaux, for example. And the “KEDGE BS Entrepreneurship” LinkedIn and Facebook groups are a regular meeting point that brings together as many start-up Kedgers as possible to build up strength.

Whether or not you recognise his name, we owe a great deal to this graduate, whose products you will no doubt be familiar with. As founder of the Danone brand in 1929, Daniel Carasso gave his name to the Nina & Daniel Carasso foundation following his death in 2009 at the age of 103. This foundation is active in a number of fields: food and art, and also research and education. This is how it came to assist KEDGE Business School in its development, as the founding benefactor of the accelerator that will bear the name of Daniel Carasso.

We genuinely hope that our graduates’ investment in this new adventure will allow the next Daniel Carasso to emerge from the KEDGE Accelerator!
