KEDGE Design School joins the roster of the EDUNIVERSAL 2021 ranking of Art Direction, Graphic Design, and Design schools

KEDGE Design School, the entirety of KEDGE’s design training programmes, is repositioning its programmes to focus more on service design and design strategy. The Strategic Design Thinking MSc is part of this approach and, as a result, has moved up three spots to take 3rd place in the EDUNIVERSAL 2021 ranking of Art Direction, Graphic Design, and Design schools.

The Strategic Design Thinking MSc programme at KEDGE Design School aims to give students an innovative, creative, and pragmatic orientation to their careers so they can become actors of change and meet the needs of companies. The course is accredited by the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles (CGE) and accepts candidates from a variety of backgrounds (with 3 – 4 years of post-secondary education in design or other disciplines) and provides its students with an adapted curriculum. The first year of this Master programme offers a refresher in design or management, depending upon the students' original curriculum. The second year is dedicated to acquiring transversal skills related to design strategy issues.

The strong progression of KEDGE’s MSc Strategic Design Thinking programme in the EDUNIVERSAL ranking is the result of a reform of the KEDGE Design School's programmes, which began five years ago to give them a committed positioning on service design and design strategy. At the same time, in-depth work has been carried out with companies and large groups from different sectors (notably a partnership with the National Centre for Space Studies) to bring new educational projects and to increase internship opportunities.

Massive investments in innovative teaching tools, such as digital workshops and FabLabs, have also brought high quality to KEDGE Design School's programmes and have resulted in ever-increasing student satisfaction. The ever more demanding selection of students on entry also explains the good results of the MSc Strategic Design Thinking.

The MSc Strategic Design Thinking Programme also benefits from a strong influence linked to its work on brand imaging carried out with professional designers and the public.

"Five years ago, we decided to have KEDGE Design School be part of a two-fold training dynamic: 1) train designers to be in perfect harmony with the current challenges of organisations and companies, and, 2) train managers, with high expectations, in the fundamentals of design methods. I believe this two-fold approach, and the richness of the exchanges it generates, is why we hold such a prominent place in design training on both national and international levels," explained Aymeric Alandry, Director, KEDGE Design School.
