KEDGE Alumni Wine Tasting
Who are the hosts of the new KEDGE Alumni branches?
Managed by volunteer graduates, these branches mission is to allow local Alumni and students get together from time to time through Afterworks, visits, or other casual events.
KEDGE Alumni has numerous branches around the world so that local Alumni can meet, expand their network, share their respective experiences, and have a good time together.
Today, we’re giving you the chance to discover the portraits of the dynamic hosts of our new branches in Melbourne, Düsseldorf, and Tours.
💬 LOLA MILLS (MSC MAI 2017) - MELBOURNE
1️⃣To begin, tell us about your educational background. What did you study, both before and at KEDGE?
I started at the Grande Ecole Programme after doing two years of HEC prep school. My first internship during my gap year happened to be in purchasing at John Deere. It went extremely well and prompted me to specialise in the MAI programme at KEDGE Bordeaux. Then I was recruited for an internship at RB in Amsterdam and was hired me four months later as a junior buyer. The year after that, I went to Thailand for a buyer position. I’ve recently moved to Melbourne with my family and I’m taking the opportunity to take parental leave.
2️⃣ You are now at the head of the local KEDGE Alumni branch? What motivated you to apply as a volunteer?
In Amsterdam, I frequently attended KEDGE Alumni Afterworks. There was always a good atmosphere, we met lots of expatriates and shared good tips, contacts, addresses, etc. When I got to Bangkok one of the first things that I did was to join the KEDGE Bangkok group so I could meet Alumni living there. So, when I moved to Melbourne, I realised that there wasn’t a local branch here. When Brigitte suggested I create one, I said, “why not?”
3️⃣ What are your ambitions for this branch? What are your goals?
The first aim is to create a local network that will bring together old and new graduates through Afterworks. When the network is established, I’ll branch out on the types of events and activities.
4️⃣ What message would you like to send to graduates and students going through or living in Melbourne?
Join us at our events! Whether it’s to meet everyone, do a little networking, share ideas, good job tips, visa info, or memories of the school, or if you simply want to keep up your French or improve your English, you’re bound to find what you are looking for.
💬 ELISE DELAUNAY (PGE 2016) - DÜSSELDORF
1️⃣To begin, tell us about your educational background. What did you study both before, and at, KEDGE?
I’m currently an operations assistant at the European headquarters of a Chinese company that specialises in robotics. I’ve always wanted to work abroad and was naturally drawn to doing a VIE (International Voluntary Work Experience) once I finished school. In fact, after having held several internships in the textile sector while at KEDGE, one of the companies I had worked for (which had just opened a subsidiary in Düsseldorf, Germany) contacted me to join its sales administration team. When my V.I.E. finished two years later, I continued on a local contract, then changed companies, wishing to open new horizons and thus discover another sector of activity.
2️⃣ You are now at the head of the local KEDGE Alumni branch? What motivated you to apply as a volunteer?
I've been living in Düsseldorf since 2016 and I’ve randomly come across former Kedgers at various encounters. I wanted to continue these exchanges within an alumni club while making the school's network grow, which is, in my opinion, is not used by enough of us, even though it is one of the school’s major assets. Since I wasn’t able to find a branch in my region, I contacted the international department of KEDGE, which welcomed my initiative very positively.
3️⃣ What are your ambitions for this branch? What are your goals?
I’d like to bring together more Alumni, as the NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia) region has good potential. I’d also like to organise inter-school events with other business school alumni clubs in the region. The types of events will largely depend on what the alumni want to do: Afterworks, company visits, conferences... anything is possible!
4️⃣ What message would you like to send to graduates and students going through or living in Düsseldorf?
I’d like to invite all former KEDGE graduates living in, or visiting Düsseldorf or the NRW region, to get together with us for a good time. Students who haven’t yet graduated are also welcome. Please don’t hesitate to contact me by email or on LinkedIn if you have any questions about the branch, the network, or life in Germany - particularly in Düsseldorf.
💬 DOLLY GODIER (PGE 2015) - TOURS
1️⃣To begin, tell us about your educational background. What did you study both before, and at, KEDGE?
I graduated in 2015 from the KEDGE Grande Ecole programme in apprenticeship, the product manager curriculum. I started off working as a marketing manager in the food industry a year and a half, then I went to work as a marketing product manager for Radiall (37), a French industrial company. The company was created in 1952, and specialises in the manufacturing of connectors for aeronautics. It’s established in 13 countries in 3 continents and has more than 3,000 employees with three manufacturing plants in France.
KEDGE BUSINESS SCHOOL - GRAND ECOLE PROGRAMME
2️⃣ You are now at the head of the local KEDGE Alumni branch? What motivated you to apply as a volunteer?
I wanted to get to know the local fabric, and when I received the proposal to set up the branch in Tours, I thought it would be a good opportunity to meet KEDGE graduates.
3️⃣ What are your ambitions for this branch? What are your goals?
My ambition is relatively simple: I wish to bring together as many graduates as possible so we can share our different professional and personal experiences.
4️⃣ What message would you like to send to graduates and students going through or living in Tours?
I’ll soon organise a second Afterwork in Tours so don’t hesitate to join us. The first one was a great success - surely there will be lots of us. All ages, graduating classes, and professions - we are linked by our school, KEDGE and this link is for life!
