After getting a literary bac, Armand went to law school to become a lawyer. While he was doing his M1, he realised that law wasn’t made for him and decided to change direction. At the same time, Sam (a long-time friend) suggested he do an entrepreneurial project. Determined, he passed the Ecricome exam in order to attend KEDGE.

Today, Armand is a student Grande Ecole Programme at KEDGE’s Bordeaux campus (Class of 2021), and is combining knowledge in entrepreneurship and business. "It seemed important to me to know business, which is rather obscure to us at school," the young entrepreneur explained.

He and his partner Sam created the start-up Serenity in 2018. The company has associated with a design office from Correze to create connected objects to improve the safety and comfort of people who need it.

Sunrise is their first product - a lamp that is 100% made in France and detects falls by seniors and calls for help before the damage is permanent. Designed for over-65s, this connected lamp guarantees more autonomy and peace of mind for the user and his family.

"The lamp detects any falls in the person's home and alerts neighbours so they can respond quickly. Sunrise is not only for the elderly, but also for any vulnerable person (Parkinson’s, stroke, etc.). [...] I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur, and when Samuel talked to me about his desire to create connected security objects for people, I immediately agreed to do it with him. Six months later, we have a prototype that works, and the only thing left is to get it produced," he added.

More recently, the two entrepreneurs won the Bordeaux Entrepreneurs contest in the student entrepreneur category, which earned them an article in La Tribune.

A crowdfunding campaign has already been launched

Armand and Sam have just launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Kickstarter platform to begin the production of Sunrise. "We want to equip 20,000 homes or nursing home rooms over the next three years," says Armand.

"We need you to help make Sunrise become an everyday object recognised by the general public!”
