Personal Development as seen by Neuroscience, by Swann Xerri, KEDGE graduate

Swann Xerri (class of 2004), coach and lecturer, has just published his first book, co-written with his father, Director of Research Emeritus at the CNRS. The book looks at self-development and progress based on the science of change.

Personal development is a key element in our personal and professional lives, because it's about self-discovery and unleashing our full potential. That said, personal development is often perceived as too conceptual and therefore lacking in credibility or effectiveness. To write this book, Swann Xerri called on her father, who is an Emeritus Researcher in Neuroscience at the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research), to combine their disciplines and expertise in order to provide personal development with scientific justifications that bring intellectual rigor and keys to practical applications.

Swann, can you tell us more about your background and your time at KEDGE?

"I've been researching performance and leadership for 20 years. My initial work began during my Sports Science studies in Marseille, on improving sports performance. I continued my work during a Master's year at KEDGE, transposing these performance keys into the corporate environment.

As someone who doesn't come from a family of entrepreneurs, my time at KEDGE, its teaching staff and the people I met nurtured my ambition and self-confidence, and gave me the key skills I needed to find my professional path. Many former kedgers have become close friends and some professional partners.

Finally, through my own career path, I have been able to bridge the gap between theory and practice to perfect my expertise and experience. I've spent most of my professional life as an entrepreneur, setting upa dozen companies in a variety of sectors (sports, finance, real estate, business development, training and consulting). Today, I run my own leadership and performance consultancy, "The Best Me", with which I support clients ranging from small businesses in the French provinces to some CAC40 companies. With 2 associates, I also created "Le Cercle des Leaders ", aclub of passionate and committed entrepreneurs. "
