KEDGE EBP Alumnus, class of 1995, today Hervé is at the head of two companies

Meet Hervé Destribats (EBP 1995), who, after several experiences abroad, has created two companies in Spain.

Hello, Hervé. To begin with, can you you tell us about your educational background: what did you study at KEDGE and before attending KEDGE?

After obtaining my Bac B (economy) and spending some time in the UK and in Spain to learn more about the professional world and to improve my language skills, I completed the EBP France/UK degree programme at ESC Bordeaux from 1991 to 1995. The name of the initial programme the EMA had just been replaced by the EBP (European Business Programme), and is now called KEDGE Business School. The programme was conducted in France in Bordeaux, and in the UK. The first year at Hull at Yorkshire, then following a change in partnerships with the UK, the second year took place at Portsmouth in Hampshire. I did my internships in Toulouse and in Tennessee, in the US.

Tell us about what you did after graduation, what jobs have you had?

Once I obtained my EBP degree, I moved to London to look for work (like many other graduates at the time, since the UK, and London in particular, had a very dynamic job market). My first job was in a well-known airline company in London. I was in contact with clients, and learned how to manage crisis situations with passagers (and manage my social life all the while getting up to go to work at 3 am every morning). My second job, also in London was in a company that investigated mass consumption products. I worked in the sales department, was Manager of European Markets, which required me to travel Monday through Friday throughout Europe, manage complex schedules, and had to learn to adapt to different cales cultures. In 1998, I moved to Alicante in Spain, where I worked for several companies as Export Manager, before I finally decided to create my own company.

Today, you are at the head of two companies: tell us about your different projects.

I started a Digital Marketing company in Alicante in Spain, DESTRIBATS WEB CONSULTING, which offers Spanish and European companies website and online boutique services in eight languages, web referencing, graphic design, multimedia production, accessible communication, professional training in e-marketing, and legal and logistical advice in e-commerce. In parallel, thanks to my experience in communication, I created a second company, INTEGRATUR, with three other professionals, specialised in accessible tourisme. INTEGRATUR is a consulting company specialising in accessibility in the tourism industry, the aim is to eliminate accessibility obstacles by applying inclusive architectural concepts and using technology in an intelligent way (automation), but also to transform accessibility into a profitable and sustainable business model, with Digital Marketing and innovative and adapted communication strategies.

What are your objectives for the future?

My first objective is to offer the services of DESTRIBATS WEB CONSULTING to European markets. We offer competitive prices compared to our competition in France and the UK, to just mention those two countries (up to 50% in some cases!). The official organisms that use our services in Spain and the satisfaction of our clients testifies to the quality of our services. The second objective is regarding the financing of the development of technologies that can be applied to the communication and commercialisation of accessibility for INTEGRATUR. We are currently looking for investors who are willing to finance this young company that has a strong potential thanks to the innovative solutions we offer in a market that is currently expanding.

What feedback have you received about your companies?

DESTRIBATS WEB CONSULTING has been certified as a international digital marketing service provider by official Spanish Economic Development institutions. The company works with the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the CCEIs (European Centres of Innovative Companies) scientific university pacs, and town halls. I have been certified as a training service providers in strategies, globalisation, digital economy, IT tools, marketing and business management by the EOI (School of Industrial Organisation, which belongs to the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Tourism). INTEGRATUR is a young company that has started to receive support from Spanish public and institutions in the tourism and accessibility sectors.

How did your time at KEDGE Business School help you in your career?

My time at Kedge Business School enabled me to acquire the knowledge and mechanisms necessary to analyse situations in the moment, and take advantage, know how to observe, and understand the world in all  of its complexity and its entirety. The multicultural teachings provide students with the flexibility needed to adapt to an socio-economic environment that is always changing.

If you had one piece of advice for KEDGE students and alumni, what would it be?

Try, make mistakes, start over, succeed, and never give up. The world is full of opportunities, those that exist today, and those that are being created everyday.

Anything to add? (call to vote, participation in a fundraising campaign...)

DESTRIBATS WEB CONSULTING offers preferential rates for KEDGE alumni to create websites, online stores, and graphic design. Don't hesitate to reach out!
