Two KEDGE students are tracking SDG initiatives abroad

For their “ODD & THE KEDGERS” Pro-Act Nomad, two KEDGE students have decided to do something on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Their project? Meet companies that are working on achieving the SDG.

ODD & The Kedgers is the story of two students who, during their gap year at KEDGE Bordeaux, decided to track where the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (ODD = Objectifs du Développement Durable in French) are being implemented around the world. They got the idea to during a conference at KEDGE on CSR.

This Pro Act Nomad is an international educational mission planned for 2020 that aims to raise Kedgers’ awareness of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, as well as to let tomorrow's managers know of responsible international opportunities in the associative, private, and public sectors. They are doing this by meeting organisations that make a concrete impact in line with the SDGs.

Each Pro-Act member has a distinctly separate role in this project:

Fabian Collinet, specialised in CSR, is the project’s Head and CSR Manager. He has designed an approach that contributes to sustainable development. This approach is reproducible in the different entities they are visiting, which are committed to CSR/SRO and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Célia Chrétien, specialised in Marketing, is the project’s Marketing Manager. She has designed communication tools to share sustainable development practices in an impactful and attractive way.

“ODD & The Kedgers” have an approach that is expressed in their slogan: SEE-ANALYSE-ACT-SHARE :

1    SEE: Raise awareness of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals

  •  Discover the blueprint, issues, and focus areas

2    ANALYSE: Learn their global applications

  • Understand the specific challenges of meeting the SDG benchmarks in different regions of the world

    3    ACT: Take action

  • Go abroad and visit entities (private, public, or associative) that use the SDG benchmarks in a tangible manner

4    SHARE: Share the commitments  of the companies

  • Share their ethical actions via our communication tools during our trip

ODD & THE KEDGERS is calling on help from the Alumni network

These two adventurers are calling on Alumni working in those countries to meet with them during their journey!

What does a meeting involve?

If you accept, an interview (length of time is flexible) will be held to discuss your company’s CSR measures and the actions it has implemented, and then an article/good practices paper will be published on the project’s website (currently under construction) and disseminated within KEDGE Business School.

Students are looking for international positions, and this would create a link between your company and the school. Such an interview will bring visibility to your company’s actions that will motivate young Kedgers to implement the same once they enter the professional world.

If you are interested in meeting ODD & The Kedgers, the students' contact information can be found at the end of the article.

Take the quiz below to test your knowledge of the SDG and CSR and give the project a boost!
