Geopolitics and Carbon Border Tax

KEDGE Alumni and its branch in Geneva invite you to a very special event. For the first time in Geneva, KEDGE Alumni will host an exceptional event. You have the opportunity to attend a very important conference chaired by Laurent Estachy, which will be followed by a networking reception with Alexandre de Navailles  (Director General of KEDGE BS) and Christophe Mouysset (Director of Corporate Relations and Entrepreneurship of KEDGE Alumni) in attendance.

The purpose of this presentation is to provide an overview of the major geopolitical developments and tensions of the moment, in particular those involving the United States, China, and the European Union. However, it will look at it through a different prism and focus on environmental issues - more specifically, on the potential for a carbon border tax.  

Laurent Estachy, Professor of Geo-economics and International Finance at KEDGE BS, will present how geopolitics and environmental issues have now come together to review the phenomena of globalisation that the world has seen over the last forty years. This globalisation was transformed by the crisis of 2008 and has been turned upside down by the pandemic of 2020. Carbon border tax schemes, intended to sanction the most polluting nations, not only affect the future of international commerce and global production chains but, in addition, to the technical aspects, they may play an essential role at the centre of current and future dominant struggles and major geopolitical issues.

What better place than Geneva, a long-standing city of international diplomacy, to discuss this issue?

7:20 pm: Opening of the conference by Alexandre de Navailles, General Director of KEDGE BS
7:30 pm: Presentation by Laurent Estachy
9:00 to 10:00 pm: Cocktail and networking with the speakers
