KEDGE and the Marseille Bar Association strengthen their partnership and announce the launch of continuing education training for lawyers

KEDGE and the Marseilles Bar Association, partners since October 2017, have associated on skills development activities.

This collaborative project aims to allow KEDGE and its students to benefit from the background and expertise of the lawyers of the Marseille Bar Association and, in return, to provide the lawyers with the school's academic expertise.

In its strategic plan, KEDGE set forth its promise to always stay up-to-date with its skills. In keeping with that commitment, it is developing certificates and programmes in collaboration with the relevant players and institutions of the region. The first of these programmes has been created for lawyers and was designed jointly by KEDGE Executive Education and the Marseille Bar Association. Partners for four years, the two organisations have come up with a programme that responds to changes that are inherent to the legal industry and is based on subjects such as digital identity, management, and financing tools.

As the Covid crisis has disrupted law practices, it has become apparent that the Marseille Bar needs to promote continuing education so its members can access tangible tools to renew their vision of how to practice their profession, acquire the skills and knowledge for the development and sustainability of their firm, and learn new methods in their relations with clients.

"KEDGE's role is to assist its community and partners in developing and updating their skills. Through our partnership with the Marseilles Bar Association, we hope to give lawyers, regardless of their type of practice (sole practitioner, partnership, employee), the opportunity to develop a culture of innovation so they can remain competitive on the market", explained Jean-Luc Faye, Executive Education Director at KEDGE.

The programme offers several courses for lawyers to perfect or revitalise their professional practice:

  • Marketing, Social Selling, Client Relations for the Lawyer of Tomorrow;
  • Crafting a Business Plan for a Law Firm;
  • Managing a Team in a Law Firm.

In the pursuit of this joint project, which seeks to develop a culture of innovation, the two partners organised a special event, "Innovation Day", which took place on Thursday 17 June. It consisted of workshops, peer-to-peer exchanges, a Legal Pitch Party organised by the Marseille Bar Incubator, and a conference on the state of the legal sector organised by KEDGE.

During the event, Jean-Luc Faye and Lucile Guérin, Business Engineer at KEDGE, announced the launch of this new training programme developed in partnership with the Marseille Bar Association.
