This Kedger is a co-founder of the online kitty: Le Pot Commun

2006 KEDGE graduate Ghislain Foucque is the co-founder of one of the two largest European companies in online community collections and payments: lepotcommun.fr

Background

Ghislain Foucque graduated from KEDGE Business School (Marseille campus) in 2006 with a licence in International Management. He then moved to Dublin to get a Bachelor's degree, then went on to get a Masters in International Business in Barcelona.

After his studies in Marseille, Dublin, and Barcelona were completed, and after having held professional positions, Ghislain started Le Pot Commun with his two cousins - Thibault Saint-Georges and Adrien Soucachet - to simplify collecting money between relatives.

Le pot commun

Launched in October 2011, Le Pot Commun is now the second-largest online money collection platform in Europe, with a new contribution to the “kitty” happening every three seconds.

Birthday, leaving kitty, housewarming party, holidays with friends, calls for donations… this online money collection platform has already simplified collections for more than 11.5 million users. Currently, the company has some thirty young, curious, and dedicated employees.

As a measure of its success and quality, Le Pot Commun has partnered with companies such as Amazon, Fnac, Décathlon, Zalando, Nature & Découverte, etc.

It’s relatively simple to use. Someone creates a shared kitty in less than five minutes. He or she then shares it with family and friends who contribute directly to the kitty online. Once the kitty is complete, the administrator can either:

  • buy a gift directly from one of its partners by converting the money collected into a gift card; or
  • transfer the monies collected via bank transfer.

More recently, the company has launched Le Pot Solidaire - a fundraising platform that is 100% reserved for collaborative projects of associations or individuals.
