Tribute to Vianney, a KEDGE student of exemplary courage

Vianney Le Cottier, a KEDGE student, died from an accident in March 2019. Very popular at the school, his friends and family wished to pay him a last tribute.

In September 2012, after receiving a degree in Economics and Management, Vianney Le Cottier attended KEDGE Business School. Being sociable in nature, he joined the WAX IT association as the head of its sailing section during his first year. It was a real challenge as he led a team of 17, managed a budget of 20,000 euros, planned sports training, and at the same time was responsible for external relations.

In his second year, as part of his “pro team” (student group project), and with the aid of the WAX IT association, he formed a team to take part in the EDHEC Sailing Cup: a first!

From June 2014 to July 2015, Vianney took a gap year to travel and have new professional experiences. During his first six months, he went work for Auchan in Taiwan as an Assistant Product Head. His duties in this position were to develop import strategies in direct consultation with central purchasing, analyse market and competition trends, develop a marketing tool within the Import Division, and also track sales and analyse the results.

Over the next six months, he worked for L'Oréal as a Sales Organisation Assistant. Based in Paris, he had a number of duties. He was in in charge of targeting the needs and objectives of businesses, creating sales and marketing tools for the sales force, and supervising the "2015 summer trainee" campaign (training, monitoring, and analysis of results).

Vianney was a very candid and funny person, and was there for his friend. Very popular, he was a key element of our Class!” said Marwane Zine, a close friend of his.

Following an accident in August 2015, and after a four-year battle, Vianney Le Cottier died on 28 March 2019.
