KEDGE partners with Télémaque to strengthen its commitment to equal opportunities

KEDGE has just signed a three-year partnership with the Télémaque association, whose aim is to increase the potential and chances of success of secondary school students and apprentices from disadvantaged areas who are committed to getting an education.

The school is honouring its commitment to equal opportunities by offering mentoring support.

Issues of inclusiveness, whether regarding disability, gender, or equal opportunities, are a core part of KEDGE's operations. To contribute to reducing inequality and discrimination, the school has decided to partner with Télémaque. Télémaque supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who want to succeed, but who have neither the keys nor the means to pursue their goals. The young people who receive support are students taking the academic stream in partner institutions, colleges, and high schools, or taking the vocational stream in vocational centres and high schools.

The support services offered by KEDGE include individual mentoring (including follow-up until they get either a high school or vocational diploma) and financial support (which will allow the student to carry out educational or cultural projects). A total of five young people from disadvantaged areas will receive this assistance, two in the Bordeaux region, two in the Marseille region, and one in the Paris region. Mentoring will be carried out by staff from the campuses in these cities. They will also be responsible for accompanying the students on regular cultural outings during the year. In this way, the school is making a positive contribution to equal opportunities in all its territories.

A higher-education institution can be inclusive within itself, but if it doesn’t give everyone the chance to study the programme of their choice, it doesn’t correspond to the idea of inclusiveness we have at KEDGE. With the mentoring set up by Télémaque, and the commitment of KEDGE employees, these secondary school students will benefit from the support that will help them construct and carry out their dreams." About Télémaque :

Télémaque was created in 2005 under an agreement with the French Ministry of Education. We start working with young people from the 5th year of secondary school in the academic stream and from the 2nd year of secondary school in the vocational stream, by providing them with a double mentoring programme lasting 6 years in four important areas for their future: academic performance and success, socio-cultural awareness, introduction to the professional world, self-confidence, and the prevention of self-censorship.
