KEDGE has demonstrated its commitment to inclusivity by signing the Diversity Charter

For more than fifteen years, KEDGE has placed a lot of effort into applying its CSR strategy to all its activities. Its commitment to this strategy has intensified and on Thursday, 4 February it signed the Diversity Charter as part of the Tour de France de la Diversité 2021, a travelling event whose objective is to meet players committed to diversity and inclusivity in their territory.

Launched in 2004, The Diversity Charter is a commitment text that can be signed by any employer who wants to take a proactive approach towards acting in favour of diversity, an approach that goes beyond the legal and judicial framework of the fight against discrimination.

For some 15 years, KEDGE has been one of the leading organisations involved in the Diversity Charter - a sign of its commitment to cultural, ethnic, and social diversity in its community. With the signing of this document, the school reaffirms its commitment to promoting diversity and inclusiveness with a threefold objective:

  •  Making KEDGE a School of Excellence for all

  • Making respect for others and open-mindedness fundamental values

  • Making KEDGE a key and exemplary school in its global approach to diversity - for its students as well as for its staff.

The mandate of equal opportunities contained in the Charter is an integral part of the school's DNA. KEDGE broke new ground n 2015 with the creation of KAP, a comprehensive scheme whose objective is to eliminate social and economic barriers. Still in force on KEDGE campuses, KAP provides access to the school's higher education programmes to students from modest backgrounds and who have excellent and deserving academic backgrounds. It offers them individualised support adapted to their needs.

"At KEDGE, we believe that human potential is an asset for our organisation and a source of overall performance for our students, professors, staff, and partners. The diversity of those in our community is one of our major strengths, of which I am proud. The school, which is already very committed to diversity and equal opportunity, is determined to be more ambitious and has made inclusivity and the fight against inequality and discrimination a main issue. It is one of our core values and is the bedrock of our managerial culture," said Alexandre de Navailles, KEDGE General Director.

Diversity is one of the five organisational pillars of the school's new strategy. It will be deployed in a transversal manner in its promotion and recruitment efforts, pedagogy and courses, research, student association projects, HR policy, and events and awareness-raising activities carried out by the school. KEDGE's objective for 2022 is to create a comprehensive inclusiveness index that regularly measures the impact of its actions, under the supervision of a monitoring committee.

As part of its social policy, KEDGE relies on three components: support for its students, the personal development of its employees, and training and support for its future graduates and companies facing social challenges. With these three pillars as a foundation, the school is building a long-term project that will give priority to the issues of disability, gender equality, and equal opportunities.

About the Diversity Charter:

The signing of the Diversity Charter embodies the commitment of organisations at the highest level. Made up of six articles, the Charter guides organisations to implement concrete actions and to progress through innovative practices. Not only limited to human resources management, diversity also permeates all of an organisation's activities and requires the involvement of all its employees and partners. By making inclusive management and respect of individual differences a lever for unity and well-being at work, it is a source of economic and social performance. The Diversity Charter encourages companies to commit and involve their entire ecosystems in contributing to the richness of the company.
