Circle Sportswear brand, founded by two Kedgers, has raised 1 million euros!

Only a year after its launch, Circle Sportswear, the first circular economy sportswear brand of France, founded by Romain Trebuil and Alex Auroux (KEDGE graduates), has raised 1 million euros!

In February 2020, shortly after the launch of the Circle Sportswear brand, we met and interviewed Romain Trebuil (MAI, Class of 2010). Today, one year after its launch via the Ulule platform, the young company has just had its first round of funding, raising 1 million euros from experienced business angels.

"Thanks to this first round of funding, we’ll be able to accelerate our growth and pursue our goal of becoming the leading brand of eco-responsible sportswear in Europe. We want to be a real source of inspiration for athletes and create a community of runners and yoga practitioners who are committed as much possible," explained Romain Trebuil, co-founder of Circle.

The first circular economy sportswear brand

The French are increasingly paying attention to their fashion consumption and they expect brands to be transparent about the composition of their products. Circle sets itself out from other sports athletic wear companies for its ecological commitment by offering multi-life products that are up to 100% recycled and 100% recyclable. It’s ranked No. 1 in the "Sportswear" category in the Clear Fashion ranking.

Thousands of athletes have already put their trust in this young French brand specialising in running and yoga apparel. The pieces designed by Circle meet the expectations of today's sportsmen and women: high-performance athletic fashion adapted to both sports and the daily life of urban workers. 100% eco-responsible manufacturing using recycled and recyclable materials, local manufacturing in a short circuit, and deliveries by bike make for a limited carbon footprint. To be transparent to consumers, all products have a QR code that lists information about each stage of the garment's manufacture.

"With this fundraising, the brand hopes to accelerate the development of a mixed wardrobe for committed athletes and to develop the next eco-responsible and ethical textile innovations. Circle continues to invest so that each of these new products has a positive impact on both the environment and on society, and provides a truly sustainable alternative for all sportsmen and women.” - Romain Trebuil.
