KEDGE graduate Fabien Raiola wins gold at the Lépine competition!

Fabien Raiola, a KEDGE graduate, has just won an award at the 120th anniversary of the Lépine competition with his connected ring Aeklys.

On 1 October 2021, Fabien Raiola won the Leonardo da Vinci prize at the 120th edition of the Lépine competition. He took home a gold medal and received 2,000 euros in prize money. This prestigious competition is intended to reward and encourage innovation.

Launched in 2016 after the creation of their start-up ICARE Technologies, this connected ring is an entirely new innovation. With options similar to those of a connected watch in a mini format, Aeklys replaces the wallet, keys, credit cards, business cards, and transport cards. Powered by electromagnetic induction, Aeklys requires no network and has no battery to recharge!

In addition to its technical features, the ring has a unique design by the famous French designer Philippe Stark.

In 2018, Aeklys secured 2.5 million euros in European funding to boost the project, create an application for the use of Aeklys, and patent the invention. The ring can be purchased on the company's website for 149 euros.

Aeklys has not finished developing as the two entrepreneurs have great ambitions.

And finally, for the the record, amongst the brand’s shareholders are well-known public figures, such as Blaise Matudi and Teddy Riner.
