Alumni evening

Humor in business: what kind of humor, when and how?

In the context of the coronavirus epidemic, the French Ministry of Health has updated its recommendations on the COVID-19 coronavirus.

In line with the recommendations of the public authorities, and following the cancellation of some participants, we have decided to limit the risk of exposure due to gatherings, and therefore to postpone our inter-network grandes écoles evening on Thursday March 26.

We apologize for the change in schedule and thank you in advance for your understanding.

We wish you an excellent day

The organizing committee

Building on the success of previous editions of this event, which has brought together graduates from the networks of the world's leading business schools, this year we invite you to take part in thee to take part in the 5th edition of the inter-grandes écoles alumni evening, at Kedge Business School in Talence on Thursday March 26, starting at 6:30pm.

This year, we are delighted to welcome the GEM (Grenoble Alumni) and SKEMA ALUMNI networks, who join AUDENCIA BS, EDHEC, EM Lyon, ESCP, ESSEC, HEC, NEOMA and KEDGE Business School.

A unique opportunity to promote exchanges and expand your network!

The program for the evening includes:

6:30 pm: Welcome

Welcome by KEDGE General Management

7:00 pm: Conference on the theme: "Humor in Business: what kind of humor, when and how to use humor?"

hosted by Laurent BOMPAR, Marketing Professor at KEDGE BS and EM LYON graduate, and Michael HIRSCH, Humorist and NEOMA graduate

Is humor good for business? Management practice and academic research both agree that it is. However, a few precautions may be necessary. There are four types of humor: which ones should be favored, and which ones should we be vigilant about? Why use humor? For your audience? For yourself? In a negotiation situation, how effective is it? At what moments? Is humor feminine? Is it young? Not so young? What about managerial humor in different cultures? What about our French humor? Is it Latin? Our two presenters, comedian Michaël Hirsch and researcher Laurent Bompar, will be answering a host of questions from the stage and from academic research. So, are you ready to dare to be funny?

8:00 p.m.: Cocktail, a convivial moment to exchange ideas with other participants
