Just like the school it represents, the KEDGE Alumni Network has evolved a great deal over the past few years, but some misconceptions are hard to shake, and some of KEDGE Business School's students remain unaware of what the network has to offer them and at what price. It is time to set things straight!
Misconception number 1:
"You have to pay to take advantage of the alumni network"
All Kedgers have access to the alumni network. No exceptions! Paying the membership dues is by no means an obligation. If you do choose to become a paying member, you can benefit from reduced prices for events and other services, but you don't have to pay to become a member. Additionally, a lot of students and alumni are members and they don't even know it...if you aren't sure, you can check by logging in to your personal account (and if you don't have your login information, you can retrieve it by clicking here).
Misconception number 2:
"The alumni network isn't for students"
Although certain services are reserved for Kedgers who have already graduated, others are fully accessible to students. For example, you can take advantage of:
- the online alumni directory (which can be useful when you are looking for a job or internship)
- our job board (which can be useful if you are looking for your first job)
- friendly meet-ups in France and abroad (which can be useful in developing your network)
- our mentorship tool between students and alumni
Misconception number 3:
"I don't have any login information, so I don't have an account on the alumni network's website"
Absolutely ALL of KEDGE Business School's students and alumni have an account on our website so that they can be referenced in our directory. Your login information was sent to you by email when you started school, but you may have lost it in the meantime...but, no need to worry! You can easily retrieve your login information in a few simple steps. Once you have logged in, don't forget to update your profile! Having a secured login system is essential, as it ensures that only KEDGE students and alumni are able to access our services (job offers, meetings, online tools).
Misconception number 4:
"KEDGE Alumni events only take place on campus"
Wherever you are in the world, there are Kedge communities that we seek to bring together during afterworks or conferences. There are of course numerous events on our different campuses, but they are not exclusive! Additionally, keep in mind that KEDGE Alumni offers many digital services, that allow you to take advantage of the network from anywhere (mentoring, e-forum, coaching, etc).
Misconception number 5:
"You have to belong to a professional club in order to attend the meet-ups"
Even though our thematic meet-ups are referred to as "Professional Clubs", you don't have to belong to said "club". You just have to be a KEDGE Business School Alumnus/a in order to participate in the events! Additionally, participating in one event doesn't mean you have to participate in future events.
