"Finance, ready to pay the price of climate change?"

by Anne-Catherine Husson, Director General of Novethic.

Kedge Luminy Campus – Amphi A.

REGISTRATION

This event takes place in the framework of a series of conferences bringing together key actors in the "Sustainable Finance" sector and organised by the Corporate and Sustainable Finance MSc, of which the objective is to provide students expertise in both the financial and extra-financial sector.

The Paris Agreement changed the investment choices for many financial actors, who are today convinced that the cost of climate change will be in large part paid by companies that emit the highest amonts of greenhouse gases.

With the means they have at their disposal, they will be able to change the game and move the economic world toward a more sustainable model, at the scale and pace necessary...so long as environmental, social, and governance criteria are integrated into financial analyses.

This will enable actors to identify the most resistant business models that will create value both in the short and long term.

Analysts capable of anticipating ruinous crises, such as with Volkswagen and its rigged emission tests, or BP and the explosion of its platform in the Gulf of Mexico, are the competent experts that we need in the financial world today.
