Fatiha Heni-Dazi's new book

L'Arabie saoudite en 100 questions

published on February 9, 2017, by the éditions Tallandier.

Saudia Arabia has been making headlines. But do we really know anything about the country? The Kingdom illicites fear because of misinformation and prejudice. It is now more important than ever to better understand the real situation in Saudia Arabia. In her new book, Fatiha Dazi-Héni, a political scientist, lays the historical foundations for a better understanding of what is at stake today.

She also discusses the cultural, religious, sociological, political, and economic landscape in Saudia Arabia, as well as the country's relationship with the rest of the world. Who is Ibn Saoud, the founder of the current dynasty? What is Wahhabism? What roles do women play in the society? Apart from oil, what are the country's economic assets? Why does the Vice-Crown Prince, Mohammed Ben Salmane, want to change the economic and social pact? Is the Palestinian question still an issue? What will Saudia Arabia's place be if Iran comes back into favour on the international stage? Why is Saudia Arabia so involved in the Syrian conflict? Is it the end of the Golden Age for Saudia Arabia and the Gulf monarchies? What is the state of Saudia Arabia's relationship with France? What influence does Saudia Arabia's Wahhabi Islam have in France?

If you are interested in this subject, don't hesitate to register for what is sure to be an enriching and insightful meeting.

Fatiha Dazi-Hani will be present to answer all your questions, so come join us!
